There is a new Windows Mobile site out called The Modern Nomad, it is taking a fresh approach to the mobile tech space. They are going to focus on using the devices' that you have. Where most sites revolve around the Windows Mobile devices themselves, what is currently out and what is on the horizon. The Modern Nomad is filling a niche that I had not really thought about before, and are making an great effort to enhance what we have all built in the WIndows Mobile tech community and strengthen it, by providing a place for people to focus on getting the most of the device they currently.

I myself love seeing those cutting edge devices and what great options are going to be available and would love nothing better than to get a new device every few months. But the truth of the matter is I get a device and keep it for about two and half years, each device I have upgraded to the next version of PocketPC/Windows Mobile available. Each new device has had a significant upgrade to the screen and wireless communication options, and the Rom and Ram are also "larger" just from the evolution of hardware and need to run the OS. After spending some time at the site and going through what they have to offer I see some excellent potential.

Good luck guys and look forward to participating in the new and growing community you are fostering.

Well, well looks who is joining the portable game. Microsoft appears to be readying a it answer to the well… I’m not really sure; iPod, PSP, Nintendo DS, you pick. I would have to say it’s a wait and see game, again, although it would appear that Microsoft is probably prepare more of a mobile entertainment device and not necessarily a mobile gaming device. This would just be another piece in there quest for the Entertainment provider extraordinaire include:

  • XBox 360
  • Windows Vista
  • Music Store

And possibly include:

  • Origami/UMPC
  • Windows Mobile

Anything is possible at this point, but we will just have to wait and see, and from what I’ve read it sounds like this has been in the works for a little while.
